Describe your image

Preliminary estimates indicate the 2025 Duck Race held at Baddeck Forks will net VCMHCF nearly $9000.00! All these funds are dedicated to the betterment of our excellent hospital. Despite the ongoing ED closure, the patrons of South of Smokey Victoria County and Eastern Inverness County continue to generously support our fine hospital. Without all this help it would be impossible to maintain the level of support as requested by Nova Scotia Health Authority. Since 1999 the Foundation has spent $501,373.00 in meeting the requests of the provincial health authority. This would not have been possible without the help of all involved. Ticket sellers, fundraisers, volunteers, staff and many others have stepped up and done what was needed to keep the hospital viable. The purchase of modern equipment, such as the bladder scanner and vein finder, keep our hospital at the forefront of modern medicine and providing the best of service and equipment to our most important assets ... our citizens.
Thank you to all who helped, and we look forward to your continued assistance.
Chuck Thompson, Chair

Junior Duck Race
A junior duck race was held on June13, 2025 at Baddeck Academy. Each class from Primary to Grade 5 got to have a duck race. Every student was given a duck with a number and the duck that went the farthest won. Needs was very kind to donate a free slushy for every winner!
A note had been sent home explaining the race would be held during the elementary fun day and if a student wanted, they could bring a donation for the Hospital Foundation. Every student got a duck whether they brought a donation or not.
A total of $76 was raised which will used to purchase supplies specifically for kids.
It was a fun day with the kids!
